Cooking in Israel

Below are suggested menus which highlight the specialties of different ethnic cuisines.  The menus are versatile and can be customized to suite your preference and time available.  If there is a particular dish you would like to learn I will be happy to help.

                    

 

Kurdishstan/Iraqi  

(4-5 hours)

v  Kubba dumplings in tangy lemon and tomato sauce

v  Stuffed grape leaves flavored with dill and green onions

v  Burgul pilaf, an ancient dish flavored with caramelized onions

v  Raw and cooked salads,  an essential element of any meal

v  Phyllo fingers stuffed with nuts and dried fruits

 

Morocco

(4-5 hours)

v  Hand-raked couscous made the old fashioned way

v  Traditional vegetable and chicken stew with chickpeas and pumpkin

v  Stuffed artichokes with ground meat in a lemon turmeric sauce

v  Moroccan cigars- phyllo dough stuffed with spicy ground meat

v  Moroccan cookies with almonds and sesame

 

Syria 

(4-5 hours)

v  Fried Syrian kibbeh, with pine nuts and pistachios

v  Stuffed onions with allspice and tamarind sauce

v  Rice with lentils and caramelized onions 

v  A selection of fresh colorful salads

v  Ma'amoul, nut-stuffed pastry
